Lawmakers To Meet with Jonathan Over Insurgency Threat, Blame Babangida For Flagging Performance Of The Military

Following the rising wave of insurgency in the North-east and the threat to Nigeria’s territorial integrity, members of the National Assembly have set the stage for a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan so as to end the ceaseless attacks that have led to the death of thousands in recent months and turned several more into refugees.
This is just as the legislators have blamed the regime of former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, for the tNigerian Armed Forces in their confrontation with Boko Haram, saying the regime intentionally weakened the military after the failed coup d’etat led by Major Gideon Okar in 1990.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence, Senator George Sekibo (PDP, Rivers), spoke to reporters on their intention to meet with the president at the end of a closed-door meeting the legislators had with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Marshal Alex Badeh, yesterday.

[PHOTOS]: Miss Colombia Contestant Banned From Pageant Because Her Bikini Is 'Too Revealing'

One of the favourites for the Miss Colombia crown was thrown out of the competition because of possibly the most surprising reason.
The judges decided Paola Builes wore a bikini that was 'too revealing' in her modelling photos - they seem fine to us.
Apparently photos of recent photoshoot were leaked from fans of a rival contender to the judges who disqualified the 21 year old model.
Specifically they said that she broke rules by being photographed in a bikini of a 'certain size'. She was thrown out just before the actual bikini round as well. They were also promo shots for a brand of clothing which is a no-no in the pageant.
Her family have said that she was devastated after being told not to bother to turn up for the final event and we can imagine plenty of Colombians were too.

Check Out 7 Ways To Start Being True To Yourself

Every time I’ve been less than proud of myself or my work, it was because I believed the story that I needed to be somebody other than who I am — usually someone else who was doing “it” better. What I thought I needed to be has varied widely, from more hip and chic to more radically feminist and butch, to more mystical, more Buddhist, more, more, more.
This morphing and twisting of myself caused me such deep pain and slowly made me wake up and ask: how do we choose and live our truer lives? How do I live my truer life? If it’s not about finding an identity and locking it down, and it certainly isn’t being who you think you should be, then what exactly is it?
Each of us must grapple with this question; otherwise, we won’t live the life we’re meant to live. Here’s a couple of “grappling” ideas I’ve found indispensable if you find yourself wondering and wandering.
1. Realize that choosing your life isn’t automatic.
It’s learned. That’s one of the reasons we try on different identities as teenagers and into our early 30s. This is normal and important! Don’t believe something is wrong with you when you aren’t sure what you want or who you are. It’s vital to wonder, “What is true for me?”

Sugar Sweetens Battery Performance

Sugar is piled up into dunes, with more sugar raining down on top.

It might seem strange to use an ingredient found in cupcakes and cookies as an energy source, but most living cells break down sugar to produce energy. And, interestingly, the energy density of sugar is significantly higher than that of current lithium-ion batteries.

Recently, my colleagues and I successfully demonstrated the concept of a sugar biobattery that can completely convert the chemical energy in sugar substrates into electricity.
